Kansas Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom

Giving Tuesday

One of Kansas Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom’s most significant challenges is reaching teachers who do not understand the importance of agriculture’s presence in the classroom. Offering free lesson plan kits to teachers has been an effective strategy in engaging new teachers and showing them how incorporating hands-on agriculture lessons can decrease behavioral issues while teaching students about the origins of their food, fiber, and fuel. Kansas educators have shared that our free classroom kits have fueled this accomplishment.

The success of our kits in 2022 fueled the 2023 goal to give away 2,023 free classroom kits to educators across the state. Through this initiative, we have reached 50,575 students across 13 grade levels at 810 schools in all 105 Kansas counties. The most important statistic in our eyes is that 85% of educators receiving kits did not previously use KFAC materials in their classrooms. This initiative also grew our social media reach and encouraged more than 2,000 educators to join our monthly educator newsletter list to learn more about KFAC resources.

Every single dollar from donors like you matters to us. Donations make programs like this one possible. We will offer this program in 2024 to continue attracting new teachers to the benefits of incorporating agriculture activities into their classrooms. Will you join us in continuing to spread our mission of connecting classrooms to Kansas agriculture by giving today?

Over the next year, KFAC will be focusing on increasing the number of educators using KFAC resources. We ask for you to believe in us this next year as much as you believe in agriculture for us to be able to expand our reach to more schools, more teachers, and more students to truly fulfill our mission of "Connecting classrooms to Kansas Agriculture."

Help us reach even more educators in 2024 by donating this Giving Tuesday, November 28, 2023.

Believe in agriculture. Believe in education. Believe in the future.
