KFAC Be Ag-Wise Workshops
Join KFAC and Kansas Farm Bureau this winter for the third annual “Be Ag-Wise” professional development workshops. This year, the theme is “The Farmer Grows a Rainbow,” which focuses on the link between the MyPyramid nutritional resource and agriculture with useful lesson plans and physical activity exercises for 1st through 5th grade students.
These workshops are designed especially for agricultural education presenters at the county level, which include but are not limited to:
• Cooperative Extension Educators
• Conservation District Managers
• County Farm Bureau Agricultural
Education volunteers
• Youth presenters
• Agricultural teachers
• Teachers
2010 “Be Ag-Wise” Workshops:
Each workshop will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
January 16 – Manhattan at Kansas Farm Bureau
January 23 – Emporia at Girl Scouts, Heartland, Inc.
February 20 – Colby at Community Building
February 27 – Garden City at SW Area Research and Extension Complex

The $50.00 registration fee includes lunch and copies of lesson plans, and for an additional $50.00, a classroom kit can be ordered. The classroom kit is the official kit from North Carolina Agriculture in the Classroom , and it includes color copies of activities, classroom supplies and a large magnetic MyPyramid – this kit is valued at $100. Make checks payable to KFB Activity Fund.
There must be a minimum of 10 participants at each location in order to conduct a workshop.
