Kansas Ag Facts

Kansans have so much to be proud of in our state, including the role agriculture plays in our economy. KFAC is excited to bring resources to the classroom providing information about agriculture, the state’s number one industry. Approximately 90% of Kansas land is dedicated to agricultural use. In comparison with other states, Kansas is recognized as a leader in cattle, sunflower, wheat, grain sorghum and silage production. In 2012, there were 61,773 farms in Kansas, which generated $18.5 billon in agricultural output.
